The Scope of the Act

Many people starting credit repair services have collection accounts. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) provides rules for the way collectors deal with consumers, and procedures for the way they process disputes and validation requests.

Receiving a communication from a collector can be very intimidating. Knowledge of the FDCPA can remove the fear of dealing with collectors – and even put you in the driver’s seat. A working knowledge of the FDCPA is essential to successful credit repair.
